I was born in Toronto, Mother Canadian and Father Mexican. My Grandparents are English, Italian and Australian. And I have been living in Kenya since I was 5 years old. With a history like that it can be hard to explain where you came from… But having lived in Kenya most of my life I would say I am more Kenyan then anything else. How did I get into jewellery making? That’s easy. My mum. She always kept a studio in the house… Whichever country we were in. So I grew up watching her create. At 19 I went off to San Miguel De Allende, a town in Mexico with a friend and studied silver smithing with a great teacher… He could teach anyone just about anything! I then came home and started my business. I like my jewellery to be raw and real. I do a lot of casting in cuttle fish (squid) which gives my pieces texture and form which I love. I find inspiration all around me. Kenya is a fascinating place to be and live in.
